I'm still afflicted with morning disease. But it's snowing! I was up at 6am. I looked out the window and saw an untouched blanket of snow, and large flakes flying past the street lights to the ground. I got to ride through fresh snow in my jeep. First Tracks! Even though it wasn't on a snowboard, I'll take it!
So as I'm walking toward the PET Center in the snow (about 2 blocks from my parking spot), I'm ecstatic about wearing gore-tex on my feet and having the ability to lazily drag my feet in the snow and even kick around in it, if I so choose. The best part is being able to take your time, instead of doing the rapid walking, continuously shaking your feet off, shuffle. I don't understand high-heeled women in the snow. I'm sure I've done it many times, and I know I've done it when I only had a short distance to walk...but I still cringe. If they're wearing dress boots, atleast that's something...but heeled dress shoes in the snow? And we're not talking half slush/half snow or a light dusting. These poor women look miserable. I'd love to just walk up and say...hey, look at these. They're gore-tex! An amazing invention! You can wear these! You can change into your fancy pants dress shoes when you get to work if you must! Go buy some! Then again, that's me. My blood teems with practicality and rugged mountain woman, even on days when I wear skirts and perfume. The end.
