fun with STICK-E's

My bike got quite the overhaul for Christmas: disc brakes, new wheel set, and a new set of tires...a set of Kenda STICK-E's. Now, I was already fairly impressed with the STICK-E, but then this weekend happened. We started out into the woods around noon on Sunday, 6 of us total. The forecast called for rain at about 3pm, so we figured we had plenty of time to play around before the weather hit. The rain beat us though. We got a nice downpour toward the end of the ride. My wool top layer kept me pretty toasty, but that sucker got soaked pretty good by the end of the ride. Anyway, back to the STICK-E. In the rain, normally I'd be skidding out on every other wet leaf and rock, but not with the glorious STICK-E. I was riding down rocks like nothing. OH, the joy of traction in the rain. I was impressed. I was confident. It was thrilling. And, we topped it off by dragging our sopping wet, dirty selves into the local Irish Pub to grab some food. Ham and Cheese never tasted soooo good! Now, the hope is that the weather will turn a bit to the cold side so I can take next Monday off and explore some New England snowboarding. There are atleast three places I know of that have $15 lift tickets on Monday! woo! It's so worth a day off, since your garden variety lift ticket usually runs more than $50. Once you get up to Stratton and Mt. Snow, it's closer to $70. Yeah, not real cost efficient. Super Bowl Sunday, followed by a day in the snow! What could be better?
