hrm

I spent last week in Pittsburgh. The 'ol homeplace. It's funny, I love traveling home...but I love coming back to New Haven as well. I haven't decided whether I truly like living in this particular place or I just so enjoy having my own living space. I will say, however, that I've grown accustomed to the 5 minute drive to work, the daily harbor view, and the seagulls that usually swoop through the parking lot. There are days I feel as if I'm on my way to the beach, rather than work. I enjoy the smallness of New England. In one weekend, it's quite possible to travel through Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. I love that. If only I could import Pittsburghians here (and reduce connecticut real estate costs by about 50%). The best of both worlds.

craving of things biological

I have a biology craving today. Straight up non-brain related biology. I had almost forgotten how simple some of that stuff is compared with brain stuff. I went online and started reading about glycolysis and all these associated things i learned in introductory bio freshman year of college. I almost think it would be kind of fun to teach it. I'd be that weird professor making strange references and inserting unfunny jokes into lectures. MUHAHAHAHAHA. How the hell do people go straight from school to a profession and then keep that profession for years?? I change my mind everyday! Well, not too much i guess. The ultimate goal is still to be a master of brains. Whether it be a "Master" of brains or a "Doctor" of brains doesn't so much matter to me. As long as there's a modicum of satisfaction and a gaggle of pleasant researchers involved.
